Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Application

Samsung and MIT Solve are thrilled to announce the 2026-2027 Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition, inviting students across the United States to use science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to create change in their communities. With the help of their teachers, students compete to win prizes for their school plus the opportunity to work with experts in the MIT Solve Network to develop their innovations.

Opening for applications on September 30, 2026, the competition is open to eligible publicly funded schools serving students in grades 6–12. As an educator, you’ll help your students identify an issue they’re passionate about, explore how it affects their school or community, and use STEM to develop an innovative approach to creating meaningful change.

• Projects can address a wide range of community needs, including: environmental sustainability, accessibility, social change through sports and technology, public health, public safety, climate resilience, school safety, food and water safety, animal welfare, digital wellbeing, affordable and smart housing, and more.

• Projects at all stages of development are welcome, from early-stage concepts to more developed projects. We expect most submissions to be at the concept, prototype, or pilot stage. 

• Applications must be submitted by an eligible educator who is at least 21 years old and employed full-time by the school on whose behalf they are applying.

500 schools nationwide will receive Samsung technology and classroom resources, with the top team earning up to $50,000 in prizes for their school. Ten National Finalist teams will also be invited to an in-person pitch event, where students will have the opportunity to present their STEM innovations.
