Position Overview:

MIT Solve periodically seeks temporary Consultants to join its Strategic & Partner Programs team on a rolling basis. Consultants on the Strategic & Partner Programs team support Solve’s mission of advancing lasting solutions from tech-based social entrepreneurs that address the world’s most pressing problems. The primary responsibilities of the position are to assist Solve’s Strategic & Partner Programs team with project coordination support for custom Partner Challenges hosted on the MIT Solve open innovation platform to help further build and engage Solve’s diverse community of impact leaders. The Consultant, Strategic & Partner Programs will:

  • Act as primary point of contact for, and project manage, Solve’s Partner open innovation Challenges and strategic projects for global, cross-sector clients such as the World Bank and ServiceNow. Responsibilities include: leading Challenge strategy and design, judge recruitment and stewardship, Challenge promotion and application support, selection and evaluation, communications, logistics and programming, workshop and event facilitation, and building  entrepreneur support programs.

  • Design and manage virtual and in-person workshops and events including invitation strategy, management of virtual event platforms, tracking registrations, researching speakers and participants for outreach, creating briefing documents, drafting and sending event logistics emails, and serving as workshop and event facilitator, as needed.

  • Lead Partner relationships, including handling correspondence and communication with Partner counterparts and facilitating regular Partner check-in meetings and strategic sprints.

  • Facilitate human-centered design thinking workshops, judging deliberations, and other virtual or in-person events.

  • Assist Solve’s Marketing team with MailChimp marketing emails, social media posts and other digital assets as they relate to Partner open innovation Challenges and projects.

  • Conduct Partner Challenge or project promotion through research, email campaigns, and tailored outreach.

  • Support Solve’s Strategic & Partner Programs team, including Director, Strategic & Partner Programs, on other ad-hoc projects, as needed.

Minimum Required Skills:

  • At least four years’ experience in project management and administration.

  • Experience planning and facilitating virtual events, workshops, and programs.

  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Highly developed organizational and management skills.

  • Ability to work independently; manage multiple projects simultaneously; function effectively under pressure; approach problem solving creatively; effectively manage and build relations with key internal/external stakeholders including clients, partners and their staff.

  • Ability to manage registration platforms, online form tools, and CRM databases (e.g. Salesforce). 

  • Bachelor’s degree in international studies, global development, social entrepreneurship, business management, business administration, public relations, or other relevant field.

  • Master’s degree and prior consulting experience preferred.
