MIT Solve seeks a Marketing Consultant to support our mission and play a key role on Solve’s wider Marketing and Communications team. The ideal candidate will have experience with email marketing and social media, and will be data driven, proactive, and with a passion for results. This position reports to the Director of Marketing.
This is a temp to hire position.
Help creatively tell the Solve story and brand to external audiences, in particular as it relates to Solve’s Strategic and Partner Programs (the team at Solve that implements customized challenges for Solve’s clients), including executing marketing activities and advising clients.
Manage social media outreach for custom challenges and ensure all social engagement is in line with Solve’s guidelines. Manage paid social media promotion for custom challenges including writing, scheduling, managing, tracking and improving as needed and within Solve guidelines.
Lead maintenance and stress testing of tech integration between Salesforce, Hubspot, and platform for custom challenges to ensure enrollment in appropriate email workflows.
Create data tracking for custom challenge promotions as well as provide support analytics and reporting across marketing and communications. Track challenge applications and other key data and update the teams regularly on progress.
Assess performance of challenge promotion campaigns, provide recommendations of how to pivot if campaigns are not performing successfully, and then lead the implementation of changes in alignment with Solve’s overall editorial calendar, social media calendar, and brand guidelines.
Manage Solve’s series of six newsletters, working with colleagues to compile, write, edit, and schedule content, maintaining newsletter best practices and collaborating across the Solve team to input timely, relevant content.
Keep Solve’s website up to date for articles, events, job postings, and other content-related edits and updates.
Skills and Background
Minimum of two years of experience, including at least one year in digital marketing operations.
Experience with programs such as HubSpot and Salesforce. Hubspot certification preferred.
Experience with both organic and paid social media, including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram preferred.
Some experience in email marketing strategy, including audience acquisition and engagement preferred.
Writing and copy editing skills.
Strong follow up skills to ensure timely delivery of long-term tasks.
Organized, thorough, detail-oriented, and diligent.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or other relevant areas is required.
