Solve then brings together MIT’s innovation ecosystem and a community of Members to fund and support these entrepreneurs to help them drive lasting, transformational impact. 

LEAD, LEARNING COMMUNITYSolve-Community Team, to play a key role in developing the Learning Community.  Will handle the recruitment of and relations with exceptional leaders from the private, public, nonprofit, and academic sectors; consult with MIT faculty and external advisors on designing new and managing existing challenges; and program impact-driven events for the community and support solvers through incubation, mentorship, and partnership brokering.  Other responsibilities include building, engaging, and managing a community of leaders supporting Solve and Solver teams; brokering partnerships between Solver teams and Solve Community leaders and creating partnerships to advance the growth of selected solutions; managing relations with leaders, solvers, and other community members; working with team members on planning and executing events; supporting Solve’s leadership team in business development, building sustainable funding sources, and strengthening membership model; managing staff, volunteers, and consultants; and supporting the managing director as needed.  Solve is an MIT initiative and marketplace for social impact innovation whose mission is to solve world challenges. Joining the Solve team offers a unique chance to play a critical role in shaping, engaging, and growing this cutting-edge and diverse community.  

Job Requirements REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree in related field; at least four years’ related experience, including at least two in fund-raising, business development, program/project management, or relationship management; background in fields related to learning, education or international development; ability to anticipate needs and prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently in a hands-on, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment; excellent organizational skills; initiative; and interest in working in a start-up culture.  PREFERRED: master’s degree and experience in a social or impact organization.
