       In hospitals or care centers, affected individuals may benefit from “isolating face shields” similar to "entire" sealing face masks used in infants for specific cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts, when needed, to restore heart beats and number of breaths according to age and medical conditions. Continuous monitoring for arterial blood gas may require wearing a “Viral filter face mask” with adaptive oxygenation of 4-6 L (or filtered room air) nasal cannula or through the breathable face shield/mask that feels like a “breeze” to promote breathing in the ailing delicate lungs of the client. Goal is to promote transition to a virus filter to cover the face  when cardiopulmonary compensated. Complete body cover to provide warmth and prevent leaks and maintain a sterile environment. Materials used to allow disinfection and reuse of personalized masks and body protective wearables.

Presently there is the individualized air filtered rooms to separate COVID-19 infected who are willing and well to self isolate and care for oneself until well or completely recovered with meals and daily toiletries routine.

Describe what makes your solution innovative.

        Full Face mask not usually used in respirators, or ventilators but in resuscitation efforts, particular masks that are air sealing, with positive pressure to filter incoming and outgoing air, to meet COVID-19 isolation requirements.  The ventilator can be adjusted or design modified for multiple uses, to meet the respiratory requirements of the recovering client. The full face mask can be made of a soft, durable material that can be cleaned, sterilized (i.e., UV light disinfection), long-lasting and can be custom made to better fit the face of the client, and reused as many times as needed.

Describe the core technology that powers your solution.

There are already portable personalized home ventilators that may need to add an entire face shield/mask to filter air and be adaptable to existing respiratory conditions. The ventilator can provide immediate filtered air (4-6L oxygenated air or preferably room air, warmed or cooled air) to alleviate respiratory distress. It may function as an aid to help return to wearing a casual face mask for normal breathing, in addition to respiratory exercises, for instance the deep inhaling and exhaling work outs, such as yoga deep breathing exercises.

Provide evidence that this technology works.

     The mechanical and the pressure-cycle ventilation have been used to treat acute and chronic respiratory acidosis. There have been studies that suggests that mechanical respiration is better than pressure-cycle ventilation in responding to end tidal lung volume to initiate a new breath (Ayres, 1965). However, both models are intensively studied to find a better treatment of those affect with respiratory distress (McKibben, 1996). I have proposed that in addition to use a ventilator, it is also possible to help the client adjust to the new conditions and practice breathing exercises to open the lungs and return to normalcy as much as possible.

     There are existing models of face masks that filter mold, dust and other pollutants from air after major disasters such as after Katrina hurricane (3M) or filter the present COVID-19 virus from the surrounding air (CDC). The face shield/mask can filter surrounding air and can be transitioned to a face mask.

How many people does your solution currently serve? How many will it serve in one year? In five years?

     The development of a proper and large numbers of ventilators is still in the idea development stage. However the use of mask is a globally widespread accepted pandemic prevention. But there is still need of more face masks, respirators, and appropriate technology and manufacturing is still being implemented. There is still in discussion the appropriateness of the  use of masks and if there are enough. Better technology is needed to design, make a better viral filter mask and that can be recycled, reused and waste  reduced.

     I intend to study the pathophysiology to better prevent and better manage COVID-19 client conditions.

    I am currently involved in school and still continuing my studies for the coming years. I am using my time as much as possible to study and understand the public response and need according to the global pandemic.
