Our tagline:

Empowering teachers; spreading education everywhere

Our pitch:

The Problem

The demand of teachers is increasingly rising with high levels of teacher attrition in Sub-Saharan Africa. UNESCO estimates that 69 million new teachers will be needed by 2030 to meet universal educational goals over the next 14 years.

Only 36.5% of teachers are qualified to deliver lessons to students within Sub-Saharan Africa, as at 2016. With over 650 million children and youth, according to Brookings, not meeting learning milestones, it is critical to explore alternative approaches to meet the demand of teachers that will focus on recruiting and providing continuous professional development.

45% of teachers of teachers are not in the classrooms teaching according to Brookings, despite being present in classrooms thus contributing to the overwhelming number of children of school going age who are in school and yet not learning.

The Solution

Eneza has developed a technology platform that allows primary and secondary students, their parents, and teachers to access local, relevant, affordable academic courses and study tools by SMS, an Android application, and online.

Eneza aims to combine its mobile learning technology with teacher training institutions within Africa. Eneza’s technology platform will allow trainees to continuously access relevant teacher training and continuous professional development modules by Short Messaging Service (SMS) and web platforms

This will allow teachers to develop themselves with proven pedagogical concepts and teaching techniques by taking lessons & assessments with individualized feedback on correct and incorrect answers.

Additionally, the teachers will be able to use Eneza’s Ask-An-Expert (AAE) platform to engage experts on challenges encountered in the field and these experts will be able to give prompt and fast response and support to help them overcome their challenges.

With Eneza’s platform, teachers will be able to track their own progress as well as measure the success of their lesson delivery. This will be done by utilizing data gathered on their students’ interaction with the platform as students will be allowed to take lessons on the same platform and their interactions and performance would be connected to their assigned teacher’s accounts.

Change & Impact

Eneza believes that by empowering teachers with the right tools and training, they will be equipped to tackle the ever growing demand of teachers. Teachers will have easy access to training content and curriculum structures thus designing the right kind of learning content for students. Eneza is putting development and growth right at the fingertips of teachers and educators using their mobile devices. Educators will have the adequate data to make the right decisions in determining learning outcomes of students.
