Teachers in the Arab world, and in conflict zones in particular, lack access to peacebuilding content, the tools and training to teach it.
Content - Teachers in these regions lack the universal values and peacebuilding curricula. In these regions, where conflict and radicalized religions have dominated, universal values (environmental stewardship, justice, kindness, empathy) and peacebuilding is desperately needed.
Tools - Few if any, teachers across the Middle East and other developing regions know how to use technology and media in the classroom. This is especially true in conflict zones. Meanwhile, educational technology development is accelerating in developed nations, creating a gap between educators and children in developed and developing nations.
Training - Resources are limited, and the culture of continued education is slowly developing, but has not been a part of the education career path for many educators in these regions. The availability of new learning methods introducing technology and new methods of teaching into the classroom require teachers to upgrade their skills to meet the need.
We are pioneers in creating early childhood edutainment content on the subjects of peacebuilding and interfaith values.
Our mission is to assist educators in adopting edutainment in the classroom and becoming co-creators in the content. We are adding teacher training tools, content and training programs to enable them to use our material in the classroom, benefiting them and enriching the learning experience.
Our solution is a series of online training sessions, coupled with in-classroom teacher tools (booklets, discussions and exercises around the animated videos, and access to our online community).
Nurture peace in conflict zones, raise a generation of youth with self-reliance, caring and empathy for others and the environment with the values we are spreading in our content. Last but not least, build capacity for educators in using technology in the classroom and teaching content that elevates values in their communities.
Our solution isn’t limited to conflict zones; countries across the Arab world can benefit greatly from using our content since it is lacking in formal education curricula today.

The dimensions of the Challenge our solution addresses:
What makes our solution innovative:
Enable teachers and parents with technology and media (Sara & Fares series) to introduce Quran teaching on manners, peacebuilding, social and environmental skills for children in a creative and fun way.
Teachers and parents in Middle East schools & underserved communities globally lack access to curricula, tech tools, media that can help. With our partners, we provide the solution:
Curricula related to the series with interactive Q&A computer based learning programs
Partner with laptop/tablet providers
Training modules for educators and parents on how to use the animated series and accompanying curricula
Deliver a full solution for teachers, parents
How technology is integral to our solution:
Aya Animations is a production company delivering edutainment content for children and young adults. The 3D animation series are built on values and educational age appropriate themes, derived from local culture and religious values shared by local religions and based in the Quran teachings. The series is supplemented with teacher training that upgrades their subject matter and use of technology as a teaching aid skills.
We will improve in classroom use of technology by providing videos with discussions.
The training will be delivered online to 25 educators.
Collaborate with foundations, whose mission is to provide refugee children with electronic devices.
Our solution goals over the next 12 months:
Complete the 10 episode animation series
Develop the training
Run the pilot with one of our field (nonprofit partner in lebanon, and school in KSA).
Partner with tablet/laptop providers
Train 25 teachers on pilot and completed episodes; give them access and means to train another 20 teachers each,
reach 500 teachers trained in 2 years.
Our vision over the next three to five years to grow and scale our solution to affect the lives of more people:
Build capacity among educators of Refugee children in subjects related to peacebuilding, interfaith values, edutainment and technology based learning.
Refugee youth - Boys, girls, age group 2-8 years
We will benefit civil society organisations, catering to refugees in locations where concentrations of Arab speaking refugees and educators exist.
Over 500 female and male teachers/educators trained to teach our program to children aged 2- 8 years.
Assuming an average of 30 children per classroom, training 500 teachers will result in reaching 15,000 children within the first 3 years.
We aim to share and benefit children worldwide with our project
