at Quito, Ecuador

Hosted by South Made and Quinto Pilar

Solve-a-thons are independently-hosted events focused on rapid ideation and refinement using Human Centered Design for solutions to the most pressing global challenges.

Solve is an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) that identifies and supports lasting solutions. Solve is a global community of people with innovative ideas and people with the resources to impact global problems.

This Solve-a-thon will be working on Youth, Skills, and the Workforce of the Future, a Solve Challenge that focuses on "How can disadvantaged youth learn the skills they need to prepare them for the workforce of the future."

Participants will have access to subject matter experts, insight into the local manifestations of each problem, and experience developing and sharing human-centered responses to this challenge in the context of the local community.

Solve-a-thons are a space to form and reshape ideas, to evaluate and reevaluate designs, to prototype and collaborate, and to make new friends. Idea developed during a Solve-a-thon are submitted to Solve's Open Innovation platform, and the team can continue working on it after the event, or the ideas can inspire others. The best ideas from around the world will be invited to pitch live at Solve’s Challenge Finals for potential selection as Solvers and connections to the resources of Solve’s global member community.
