Dr. Belinda Nimako

Senior Country Engagement & Technical Officer, Primary Health Care Performance Initiative

Dr. Belinda Nimako is a Public Health Physician with over 16 years work experience from Ghana who is enthusiastic about using evidence to drive improvements within health systems. She previously provided leadership in various capacities in Ghana’s Health Sector including as Ag. Deputy Director for Information, Monitoring and Evaluation of Ghana Health Service and a District Director of Health Services in a rural district. In the past few years, she has built a considerable portfolio of experience in supporting leading Global Health Organizations and countries to improve PHC systems. Notably, over the past 2 years, she has been a Technical Facilitator for a cross-country virtual engagement with country-level health leaders to address challenges related to data collection and use in health systems, and PHC transformation. Currently, Belinda is the Senior Country Engagement and Technical Officer for the Primary Health Care Performance Initiative where she coordinates the efforts of partner organizations as they work with countries to measure the performance of and improve PHC systems. She joins the panel with first-hand experience of PHC performance measurement and its related considerations at global, national, and sub-national levels especially in resource constrained settings.
