An architect by background, Carolina co-founded BuildX Studio in 2016, which envisions a world made for people and planet by creating the buildings of a radically better tomorrow. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, they leverage their capabilities in architecture, engineering and construction to identify and create real estate projects that set radically better examples for delivering positive social and environmental impact through buildings.

Since 2016, she has grown a team of 3 people to 30 in less than 3 years, leading BuildX Studio to international recognition, including accreditation as the first architecture and construction B Corporation in Africa and becoming a Curry Stone Design Prize Social Design Circle member in 2017.

In 2017, she was selected for the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship GSBI program. BuildX Studio has also been listed in the London Stock Exchange Asoko Insight Companies to Inspire Africa 2019, shortlisted for the Swiss Architectural Award in 2018 and won the European Healthcare Award on Design for Health and Wellness in 2019 for their work at the Sachibondu Hospital.
