Former Managing Director, Community
Dawda Jobarteh was the Managing Director of Community, overseeing the four pillars (Economic Prosperity, Health, Learning, and Sustainability) of Solve. Solve is a community of cross-sector leaders devoted to identifying and supporting solutions to actionable challenges through open innovation.
Dawda has an entrepreneurial spirit and has worked in academia, policy, and business, in the nexus of partnerships, global sustainable development, and transformational change.
In his pursuit of social impact, Dawda has worked at the United Nations in the Executive Office of the Secretary-General on strategic partnerships related to sustainable development and climate change. Prior to that, he managed a multi-million-dollar partnership at a private sector company providing communities with reliable, affordable, and safe water in three West African countries. He also worked at the Africa Progress Panel, chaired by Kofi Annan, where he was the Acting Director and the Head of Research and Policy.
Dawda is half Gambian and half Argentine, born in Kenya and raised in New York City. He holds a PhD and a Master’s Degree in War Studies from King’s College London, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Emory University.
