Francisca Valenzuela

Songwriter & Founder, Ruidosa Fest

Francisca Valenzuela has an extraordinary way of tapping into the core of her listener’s emotions. Through her buoyant yet soul-searching pop and invigorating piano-pounding riffs, the Chilean musician digs into the depths of human expressions, while motivating and enthralling her audience altogether. She skillfully maneuvers her way through insatiable pop hooks with themes of self-realization, female empowerment and sensuality. In fact, her passion for songwriting runs deep, having crafted her first power ballad at the young age of 13.

Born in the vibrant bustling city of San Francisco, Valenzuela had an early push towards the arts. When she reached adolescence, the young artist and her family relocated to the birthplace of her parents in Chile. That’s where she quickly discovered the literary and musical works of Latin American greats. Poetry was one of her first loves, and she began to contribute to literary magazines in the Spanish-speaking world as a teen. She even published her own book at the turn of the new millennium which featured a forward from her hero, the revered Chilean writer Isabel Allende.

Her constant search for artistic growth has extended far beyond poetry and music. In 2016, the musician and entrepreneuer founded Ruidosa, the first interdisciplinary Latinx feminist festival and digital platform that celebrates women making noise, where she also servers as director.

To date, Valenzuela has performed across the globe with some of the world’s most influential and iconic musicians such as Miguel Bosé, Pablo Alborán, Natalia Lafourcade, and the legendary U2.

Today, the formidable career of superstar Francisca Valenzuela is replete with touching messages of hope, strength, and meaningful rebellion. It’s a sound that will surely keep resonating well beyond the new decade.
