Max Opgenoord

Team Lead, MIT Hyperloop

Max Opgenoord is a PhD candidate in the Aerospace Computational Design Laboratory of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT. His research focuses, among others, on transonic aerodynamics and aeroelastic optimization. Opgenoord received a Master’s in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from MIT in 2016, and a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology. He co-founded the MIT Hyperloop Team in June 2015, leading the Aerodynamics & Structures subteam. He took over as Team Lead over the summer in 2016, overseeing testing and final preparations for the competition in January 2017.
