Ninfa Salinas

President, Grupo Dragon

Mexican entrepreneur and politician, Mrs. Ninfa Salinas is the owner and founder of Grupo Dragón, an energy company that generates up to 460 GWH per year through renewable sources such as solar, geothermic and eolic. Grupo Dragón advocates the use of renewable energy and supports its stakeholders through energy cost savings. Since 2011, Ninfa has served as the company’s President and CEO.

As a public servant, Ninfa Salinas was one of the youngest women ever to be elected as a Federal Congresswoman (Mexico 2009-2012). During her term, she chaired the Natural Resources and Environmental Committee and led the issuance of the General Law on Climate Change, which places Mexico within a large group of countries with legislation focused on minimizing the effects of climate change. Subsequently, also as the youngest elected Senator (Mexico 2012-2018), she chaired the Natural Resources and Environmental Committee and led various environmental protection initiatives. Additionally, Ninfa supported several legislative efforts on issues such as human trafficking and job security.

Ninfa is also a Board Member in several companies that comprise Grupo Salinas. She holds a BA in Marketing from Universidad Anahuac (Mexico City) and a Masters in Sustainability and Environmental Management from Harvard University.
