Research & Product Lead, MIT
You Wu is a maker. Trained as a mechanical engineer at Purdue University and then a roboticist at MIT, he has explored and made inventions in various fields: energy, ocean, drones, wearables, augmented reality... In the past five years, You put his heart into tackling one of the world's greatest water problems--water leak. He led a team to invent Robot Daisy, a robot that can effectively find leaks, save water and protect infrastructure. Robot Daisy and You's team were recently recognized with MIT Water Innovation Prize, Booz Allen Hamilton Data Analytics Award and Infymaker Award.
Solution: We build robots that can inspect water pipes from the inside to find leaks long before they become catastrophic. 20% of clean water produced daily in the world is lost due to leaks. Our goals are to save water and ensure everyone has reliable access to clean water.
