Pilot Program: We conducted a pilot program at Nakabugo in Uganda with one franchise hatchery. Over a period of 12 months, this hatchery achieved >50% increase in fingerling production compared to traditional methods.
Grant Funding: We hope to receive a grant of $10,000 from MIT Solve Grant Challenge to support the establishment a proof of concept consisting of a total of 1 UFC Franchise new location. This crucial funding will allow us to refine our model, establish partnerships, and attract new franchisees.
Revenue Generation: During the pilot program, our franchise hatchery produced 50,000 fry per month for a total of 600,000 a year at @$0.08 generating $48,000 a year. in fingerling sales. This initial revenue demonstrates the model's ability to generate income and become self-sustaining.
