Solving the world’s most pressing problems through open innovation and partnership.
MIT Solve advances lasting solutions from tech entrepreneurs to address the world’s most pressing problems. We are a marketplace for social impact: we find tech entrepreneurs from around the world and broker partnerships across our community to scale their innovative work—driving lasting, transformational change.
In the last two years, thanks to its partners, Solve has brokered commitments of over $12 million in funding for Solver teams and entrepreneurs.
Through the power of collaboration between innovators and funders, paired with the platform of MIT and its history of technological achievement, we hope to empower all citizens of the world to join Generation Solve, and ignite transformative change.
Meet the solve team
Though complex challenges exist in the world, we believe they are solvable.
No one organization, sector, or industry can solve these challenges alone. Progress must be made through partnership.
- OPEN INNOVATION
Talent and ingenuity exist everywhere; we must find and support those with big ideas.
- HUMAN-CENTERED SOLUTIONS
Solutions must begin with, end with, and involve the people for whom they’re designed.
- INCLUSIVE TECHNOLOGY
Technology should address economic, cultural, and social barriers to create opportunities for all.
We will do more than talk about the greatest problems facing our world. We will set the course to solve them.
—L. Rafael Reif, President, MIT
Solve was born out of MIT in 2015, a natural offshoot of MIT’s commitment to open innovation and MIT President L. Rafael Reif’s vision to ensure that everybody has a place at the problem-solving table.
