Pitch us on your solution
Our goal is to facilitate the communication between citizens, government agency, and politicians to solve local problems, which may result in the creation of a network among local people to improve the public space.
We want to increase citizen's engagement in issues that bring benefits to their community through an app whose use, both locally and globally, would make it easier for government officials to understand the needs of the inhabitants in each locality. Allowing people to participate in the decision-making process helps build public confidence in their government, which increases social capital.
What is the problem you are solving?
According to research in 2018, among the world's significant economies, the Brazilian population is the one that least relies on its politicians. 94% of Brazilians do not trust politicians, and 86% do not feel represented by them. The lack of trust of the population is not directed only to the political class, as about 48% of the population does not trust their neighbors. The lack of confidence is not alarming in Brazil alone; about 53% of the global population does not believe the government. Among the highlights for such a lack of confidence is the lack of transparency and representativeness as critical factors that cause this situation.
With the fall of confidence in general, trust in institutions and, in general, democracy as a principle has also fallen, resulting in the malfunctioning of formal and non-formal institutions.
Momentum aims to address the problems faced not only by the Brazilian population but by the global community, about issues related to lack of transparency and communication between the citizenry and government agencies. We believe that the creation of a democratic space where both sides can dialogue will have a positive impact on the social relations between the users of the system and their community.

What is your solution?
We want to create an efficient communication channel between the public power and the population, bringing greater transparency in the decision-making process, by placing the community that will be directly affected by governmental measures, being heard by the government.
Through an app, people can report problems, which will be sent directly to the person responsible for the maintenance of the same. Users are informed when the reported issue is resolved and can also view the problem x solution by region statistics.
Users can also create local intervention groups by suggesting the use of some space or improving it. The residents of the region can debate, create polls, and look for the best solution, together, the use of public space in their community. In this way, we can unite local leaders to democratize the decision-making process.
