Equity and quality education in Tanzania pose major challenges in Primary school and secondary school aged children-particularly from the poorest families.

Most classes in Tanzania are overclouded with around 100-120 children per class.  The pupil-to-qualified-teacher ratio  is 131:1 in public primary schools

An estimated 2,000,000 children between the ages of 7 and 13 years are out-of-school. Almost 70% of children aged 14–17 years are not enrolled in secondary education  compared to 24:1 in private schools. (https://www.unicef.org/tanzani... )

Film your elevator pitch.

What specific problem are you solving?

Problem : Un equitable education

Solution: Quality Equitable digital education for all

In 2007, Tanzania achieved nearly universal access to primary education. However,  enrolment of primary school-aged children has been dropping. An estimated 2,000,000 children  ages of 7 -13 years are out-of-school. Almost 70% of children aged 14–17 years are not enrolled in secondary education while a mere 3.2% are enrolled for the final two years of schooling.

Equity and quality pose major challenges. Primary school children from the poorest families are three times less likely to attend school than those from the wealthiest households. Furthermore, while it is estimated that 7.9% of Tanzanians are living with a disability, less than 1% of children in pre-primary, primary and secondary school have a disability.

Poor quality of education dampens children’s prospects of a productive future. .https://www.unicef.org/tanzani...

Beside building the school we would like to add more tools such as computer lab, Teaching Aid and  whiteboard sand to the classroom and more to provide quality and equitable education for all.

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?

Equitable Classroom

target age group between 5-45 years of age

The group of 5-45 are currently undeserved  particularly in rural areas because they lack quality and equitable education.
We visited the communities and we provided medical equipment and supplies in Matombo, Dutumi, Mtombozi, Tumaini health Center and Vijibweni also we build schools at Matale,Kisanga, Dibamba, Mtipule, Msongozi,Vianzi Mela,Doma Hostel and Melela,Kasanga Hostel in Mvomero and  Mufindi District.

During the visitation we observed lack of knowledges among the people living in poor families compared to wealthier families. Wealthier families they choose what schools they want to go while poor people they have to depend on public schools which do not have quality and equitable classrooms, moreover they do not use technologies.

In order to improve the schools and communities at  Morogoro, quality equitable  classrooms has to be implemented to close the gap between poor and rich.

Equitable Education system will help children, youth, women, young adults, teachers and health professionals to develop their knowledge and skills needed to be engaged and become productive members of the society.
More importantly, it will creating multiple options for knowledge acquisition, sense making, product creation in addition to that, computer software application, google collaboration, drone, and more technologies will provide different kind of skills giving to all Morogoro people. In addition to this, as we develop the solution we have more than 50 Youth aged 14-24 engaged with solve Ed.
