We've been fighting misinformation & disinformation throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic by cleaning and visualizing Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health data to better inform residents of Lebanon.
Lebanon's economic and financial crises, along with the Beirut Port Blast that destroyed half the capital, pushed trust in public institutions to an all-time low. We stepped in, creating an informational website (CoronavirusResearch.co) to assist Lebanese and entities operating in Lebanon with planning and decision making in matters related to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
The scale of this challenge is global, as communities around the world faced the same issues with pandemic information. We tackled the challenge on a national (Lebanon) level over the last 12 months.
In Lebanon, over 6 million are affected; globally, 7.8 billion humans are affected.
Rapid and accelerating change requires processing a tremendous amount of data for situational awareness. Most people don't have the time and resources to collect, clean, analyze, synthesize, and make sense of all the data available. Accordingly, they seek a transparent, neutral, and impartial source of information. Due to the rise of misinformation and disinformation in social media, and the politicization of the media, most sources have lost credibility. We overcome these challenges by cleaning and visualizing complex, noisy data, without commentary - an objective view of the world. We believe humans have the capacity to process information and make good decisions if presented with easily consumable data.
Our target audience is the general public in Lebanon, as well as entities and corporations.
We support them by providing them with clean, visualized data on the Covid-19 Pandemic in Lebanon that they may plan their activities, interventions, and operations safely and effectively.
We follow local social media hashtags related to the Pandemic to understand the needs of our audience.
We engage our audience by working with them on ways to integrate our data into their modeling / planning / decision-making processes.

We provide people with the tools and resources to be better informed in the age of misinformation and disinformation.
People and entities using our product will be able to make better decisions in rapidly changing / noisy environments such as pandemics.
Over the next 1 year, we will grow our product to cover Covid-19 data in at least 10 underprivileged countries around the world.
Over the next 3 years, we plan on expanding to data unrelated to Covid-19 in the same countries we enter in the first year.
Success will be measured by our capacity to deploy our tools in the target countries. For every country where we launch our tool(s), we can mark a success.
Once our tools are deployed in a given country, we can further measure success in the partnerships we establish with local entities who make use of our tools.
