Bangladesh & its waterways:

Bangladesh is a riverine country with more than 300 rivers flowing through it. The bay of bengal is located in the south of this country. And, there are a number of natural lakes here in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh & Climate Change:

According to National Geographic, Bangladesh is one of the most vulnerable nations to the impacts of climate change.

The sundarbans forest which provides the most amount of oxygen to the Bangladeshi people, is under threat due to natural and man made causes.

Bangladesh & Existing Maritime Transport:

Thousands of diesel powered boats & ships are plying through these rivers & coastal areas, even through the sundarbans, carrying thousands of passengers everyday in this densely populated country. These boats & ships are neither environment friendly nor safe for the passengers.

Solution Proposed by SeaBeach77 Limited:

The startup is proposing Zero Emission Maritime Transport & Ecosystem.

What is the problem you are solving?

Bangladesh & Environmental Risk:

With over 160 million people, Bangladesh is the one of the most densely populated countries in the world. About two-thirds of Bangladesh has an elevation of five meters or less which leaves the country vulnerable to devastating natural disasters. Bangladesh is consistently cited as one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world. Long-term impacts from a rise in sea level and global temperature could displace millions of people. Improving the country’s resilience to immediate and future climate risks is essential to the continuing development of Bangladesh.

Boats & Ships In Bangladesh:

The number of passenger vessels plying in Bangladesh, estimated to carry 230,000 passengers, is 1,874. The cargo fleet consists of 2,288 units. It is estimated that about 745,000 country boats ply the rivers in Bangladesh of which 464,000 are used for passengers and 261,000 for cargo.

Emissions from Maritime Transport:

The total diesel consumption of the inland waterways transpotation sector is estimated at 350 million liters, about 13 percent of the total consumption of diesel in Bangladesh.

Who are you serving?

Bangladeshi Maritime Sectors:

SeaBeach77 Limited is developing Clean Energy Maritime Solution for Merchant, Offshore and Naval Ships. Among the Merchant Ship segment, it is focusing on Passenger Vessel first.

International Passenger Transport:

In 2019, commercial passenger transport has started between Bangladesh and India. Diesel powered vessels are being used to transport passenger between Narayanganj & Kolkata. SeaBeach77 Limited would like to introduce their solution here.

On Lakes and Circular Waterways Around Dhaka to Reduce Traffic Jam & Air Pollution:

Dhaka is a overcrowded city with air pollution and traffic jam. The city has a few lakes like dhanmondi lake, gulshan lake and hatirjheel. Also, there is a circular waterways round Dhaka city. So far, only hatirjheel lake has been used for some passenger transport using diesel powered boats. SeaBeach77 Limited would like to introduce their solution here.

On Rivers Inside Mangrove Forest:

Hundreds of tourists are visiting sundarbans everyday. Also, the cargo vessels are plying through the rivers inside the forest. Marine mammals like crocodile, dolphin and some fishes are at high risk at the moment due to the oil spill happened from diesel powered boats in past few years. SeaBeach77 Limited would like to introduce their solution here.

What is your solution?

Clean Energy Maritime Transportation Ecosystem Using Zero Emission Boat & Renewable Powered Floating Charging Stations:

SeaBeach77 Limited is into 'Clean Energy Maritime Transportation Solution'. The company is not only developing Zero Emission Boats, it is considering complete Maritime Transport Ecosystem development. It has developed the design of a renewable powered floating charging stations which will act as a Jetty as well.

The following environment friendly maritime products and services are being developed.

A. 'Zero Emission' Small Boats as main Product

B. 'Low Emission' Big Ship Design as main Service

C. Clean Energy Charging Station and other Equipment as subsidiary Product

D. Software Solution for Maritime Sector as subsidiary Service

Processes Used For Zero Emission Ship Design Development:

a. 'Special Least Resistance Boat & Ship Hullform Design' has been developed through Computational Fluid Dynamics iteration processes.

b. 'Battery Pack & IPS system' are being integrated as a Power Source instead of Diesel Engine.

c. 'Solar Panel' has been incorporated into the zero emission ship design.

d. Zero Emission Boats & Ships will get Power from its own Solar Panels as well as from Renewable Powered Floating Charging Stations at the Jetty.

Technologies To Be Used For Production of Zero Emission Boats:

3d Printed Technologies will be used Zero Emission Boat parts.

Solution for River & Lake Boat:

i) Basic Non-Aircon Version:

Solar Powered 22 Passenger Capacity 'WaterWonder' 7712 has been developed for the rivers and lakes in Bangladesh. 3d Printed Parts to be used for the boat production.

Solution for Navy & Coast Guard:

This low emission fast offshore patrol vessel 'ShoreSentinel' 7151 has been proposed to Bangladesh Coast Guard. SeaBeach77 Limited has also approached US Coast Guard. This is an opportunity for Bangladesh to export Navy Vessel to US and other NATO nations. It is also beneficial for NATO nations to get cost effective solution from Bangladesh since the labour cost is comparatively lower here.

More about your solution

Describe what makes your solution innovative.

Unique Solution using Combination of Technology & Process:

A. Zero Emission Maritime Transport Ecosystem:

If the zero emission ships are taking charge from a energy source which is from coal or diesel, it is not actually reducing overall carbon emission at all. Hence, SeaBeach77 is not only developing 'Zero Emission Ships'; it is developing a 'Complete Clean Energy Maritime Transport Ecosystem'. The Charging Stations for these Zero Emission Ships, are generating its energy from clean energy source as well.

B. Innovative Boat & Ship Shape:

Using Computational Fuild Dynamics Technologies, SeaBeach77 Limited has developed a number minimal resistance boat & ship hullform which requires lesser power. 'ShoreSentinel' 7151 is 15% more energy efficient than the conventional hullform of equivalent length, tonnage and speed, existing in the world at the moment. This hullform can also be used for passenger vessel in international route.

C. 3D Printed Boat Parts:

SeaBeach77 Limited would like to use Industrial Grade 3D Printed Parts for its Zero Emission Ships. This automation technique will help building the boats and ships faster in compare with the traditional methods. Most of the boat parts of 'WaterWonder' 7711 are expected to be 3D Printed.

D. Jet Propulsion Using Electric Pumps:

Low Cost Electric Pumps have been proposed, embedded in Side Floats, for Zero Emission 'WaterWonder' 7712.

E. Containerised Boat Export:

The design of Zero Emission 'CruiseCool' 7711 has been developed such a way so that it just fit within a 40ft Container and can be shipped anywhere in World.

Why do you expect your solution to address the problem?

50% of the Emission from the Global Maritime Sector to be deducted by the year 2050. At the moment 350 Million Tons of Diesel are being used by the Bangladeshi Maritime Sector. It is 13% of total diesel consumed in the country.

Hence, zero emission ship with clean energy maritime transport ecosystem is a perfect match to assist solving global warming.
