Calls for service are significantly greater than the on-duty manpower employed by most agencies to respond to these calls. As a result, call hold times increase and citizens receive poor or delayed service. Some law enforcement departments have even taken the extreme measure of no longer responding to certain types of low level calls such as auto accidents.
Additionally, society is re-evaluating the role of police in our everyday lives. Many are questioning the appropriate use of police, a limited resource with arrest powers and carrying a lethal weapon, as a primary response to low-level, nonviolent calls for service.
Annually there are over 7m reported traffic accidents. The BJS estimates 8.9m people interact with police because of a traffic accident annually.

OSS Agents (retired cops) provide unarmed, alternative police response to auto accidents on behalf of police departments. Our solution removes armed police from interaction with citizens for a nonviolent, noncriminal call for service. We are the first public-private partnership to develop an alternative police response for auto accidents.
OSS Agents are integrated into existing police operations. OSS Agents use proprietary tech to promptly respond to calls, manage traffic, gather all crash scene data, complete the official state crash report and properly close and resolve calls. The Agent report is reviewed by a supervising officer with our partner department in compliance with statutory requirements.
The OSS Solution not only serves as a force multiplier and reduces police-citizen interactions, but also provides a more appropriate, more efficient, citizen-focused response.

OSS has been successfully operating in conjunction with the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) for three years. We have responded to over 2,000 auto accident calls, and our program has been deemed a success by all vested parties, including the Federal Monitor of the NOPD-USDOJ Consent Decree.
We are expanding our New Orleans partnership in 2022. We are also expanding to Baltimore in 1Q 2022 and are in discussions with several other departments around the country.
