Is current education good enough to help our children change the 21c world into a better place? Does knowledge from class could be applied to any changing society? World Biggest Class Project is the solution to help public education contribute to students’ future and community directly.

Our pitch:

The problem:

"Can learning experience in school effectively be applied in real world?" If society changes happens too fast, education could guarantee students opportunities to practice to use their knowledge properly in any circumstances.

However, today's classes are still sticked to pass the knowledge from a teacher to students. One-sided lecturing, is not more than just passing information to following generation, and that is only available in society without open information source, called Internet. Children need more multi-directed communication, collaborative skill, creativity to face and solve new problems which were not even existed before. 

Why our solution will solve the problem:

To help students to be skilled for 21st Century, FutureClassNetwork(FCN) has 2-step solution. First, waking students' 'learning DNA' up. No child who has never liked learning from the first place after several experiments in Korean classrooms. And Keokuro Kyosil, one kind of flipped learning model could be helpful for a starter. 

When the DNA woke up, there is where the World Biggest Class Project begins. Chances to apply and experiment their knowledge and information to solve real problems make students feel invincible and confident. And this strongly affects children's future. Powerful learning happens by doing.


Target Outcomes

Our target outcomes:

Keokuro Kyosil, which students use various learning methods including flipped learning, is so simple in its form and fast in its effect. The number of teachers who flipped their classrooms reached almost 10,000 within 2 years. The sensational outcome was the sign of needing of education changes and evidence of the method worked.  

World Biggest Class Project, is actually the outcome after the students' passion at learning and contributing to change world better than before. Now we need to open the society to students so that they can be main player of society.

Why our solution is unique:

Education innovation have seemed very difficult cause people have thought that is something to do with politics, policymakers and parents.

However, FCN have proved real education should start from classroom. Challenge number one is to recover learning energy in current classroom with Keokuro Kyosil method, and number two, is to make the way from classroom to various social communities.

The power plant of FCN is to let teachers and parents see how could our children be passionate and creative. And our software platform is to open and share those ideas.

Why our solution is human-centered:

World Biggest Class Project, is the solution to make society better by students' learning power. Student define the problems they figured and trying to find solutions. Our technology is the updated education model. 

When we see developed Internet technology, is very good learning field for students. For example, one of the high school students teams with us have designed computer mouses for younger users. They found there are no mouse for smaller hands and it might cause the ankle disease. This is the good example for using new education project for human good. 


How people will access our solution:

FCN believes the education field in which changes should start is classroom. Therefore we focused on teacher training. When teachers see the better education format will be needed to students, they want to learn how to change their classes future-focused. 

Every month we open teacher training camp, more or less for 50 new teachers at once. When a teacher could change the class, the rest of them are on students. All we need to do is just wait and follow, and expose the students' performances. They never let us down.

How we will sustain our team financially:

We need to scale this idea and gather change makers. Our first financial strategy is 'Gather powerful change makers as many as possible'. Where the more idea leaders come, there are always more chances to get help and support. 

Second, we are trying to sell our teacher training program internationally. World has faced same problem that we trying to solve. In Korea, every month, around 100 new teachers come to our teacher training camp to learn how to change their student passionate. This is due to the current system is not valid in 4th industrial revolution. We know how to change education field thoroughly. That should happen from classroom and we know how to make that happen. 

The factors limiting our success:

The budget for human labor and working space is No.1 issue of ours. We have received not small amounts of financial support from many stakeholders but those have been focused on project performances and not enough for hiring partners who actually could work with us for our vision. 

FCN, has only 7 full-time workers and all of them are in charge of at least doubled-duties. In order to react on the feedbacks of innovation model and spread our ideas, or communicate with domestic/international partners or stakeholders, we need to manage our workers to be in better place and reasonable workload.

Why we're applying to Solve:

We have proven our solution is working well enough to change the attitude towards learning. When we open our society to children to apply their learning, they make our world into better place and the projects are now happening. 

Our next goal is to scale this solution in global context. FCN solutions already recognized by many international organizations such as OECD Education 2030.  However, being non-profit organization, it is hard for us to manage the project and scale solutions by our own. We are waiting for value investors, messengers, and entrepreneurs who agree with our vision.

As a 2016 Google Impact Challenge Winner, we are supported by Google.org. FCN supported by glonbal organizations like OECD Education 2030, Ashoka foundation. MTA, New Education model in global context, is meaningful partner. Ministry of Education(Korea), Cheong-ju National University of Education, and many Office of Education are working with us.
