Brazil has more than 12 million girls between 13 - 18 years old.  Only 63% will finish High School. OCDE report (2018) has shown Brazilian boys outperformed girls in mathematics by nine score points. Only 1% of the girls at age 15 performance different results.

Go Girls: Sparking STEM today addresses the gender gap in STEM by fixing three major problems: parents and girls perceptions of gender roles, a lack of role models, opportunities in companies and girls developed skills.

What specific problem are you solving?

There is a shortage of people in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) studies and jobs. The STEM jobs are growing faster than others, yet the number of students in this field is stationary and remains too low, especially for women. 

It is causing tension in the labour market and an extreme lack of diversity in STEM jobs in companies. 

STEM skills and positions in this field are critical for the well-being of the Latin America and Caribbean economy recovery and for designing more inclusive solutions to societal challenges

Brazil has more than 12 million girls between 13 - 18 years old.  Only 63% will finish High School. OCDE report (2018) has shown Brazilian boys outperformed girls in mathematics by nine score points. Only 1% of the girls at age 15 performance different results.  
 
Unfortunately, the OCDE report found only one in five girls in Brazil expect to work in STEM professions.  Change this picture is crucial for recovering our economy. Our solution builds bridges between girls career choices making and companies opportunities to combat the problem.

The main initiatives:

Inside Out Approauch

Creating a buzz around the online training program for parents who already work at the companies, educators and partners from the community the company is based on.

Online Workshops

Role-model intervention in which female volunteers working in STEM go to talk to girls about their careers. We also provide activities to desmistify skills required to work in STEM.

Ideathons:

By inspiring girls to discover more of what they really care about. We pupouse to invite girls bring solutions to world biggest challenges.

Learning Journey

Through partnerships, sponsorships, and various initiatives, we offer girls additional ways to learn while having fun applying STEM skills.

Go Girls: STEM Today has already reached more than 800 girls between 13 - 18 years old from Brazil. Companies such ArcelorMittal - MT - Fortune Global 500 Top Companies have sponsored our solution and have plans to scale to achieve scale the initiative.
