Andrew Freedman

Andrew Freedman is the Science Editor for Axios and writes the weekly Science Newsletter. He specializes in coverage of climate change, extreme weather, the environment and space exploration. He was the first reporter to use the term “polar vortex” during the frigid winter of 2013-2014. Andrew was part of a team that won the 2018 Society of Environmental Journalists’ Award for Explanatory Reporting. Andrew holds a Masters in climate and society from Columbia University and a Masters in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
