Graduated in Biological Sciences (2004), Master’s (2006) and PhD’s 2010 degrees in Microbiology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais - UFMG (Brazil). Bruno Brasil was co-founder and R&D Director of the biotechnology-based company, Myleus, from 2009 to 2012. Possess MBA in Project Management from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation - FGV (2019). In 2012, became researcher at EMBRAPA Agroenergy. From 2015 to 2018, was awarded a productivity scholarship by Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development - CNPq. From 2016 to 2018, was the R&D Assistant Director of Embrapa Agroenergy and the coordinator of the EMBRAPII Unit of Renewables Biochemistry. In 2018, became the Secretary of Research and Development of Embrapa at the company headquarters (Brasília/Brazil).

Bruno Brasil is the author/inventor of 3 technologic products already transferred to the private sector. In addition, the applicant produced to date 1 patent, 3 patent applications, 33 scientific papers published in indexed journals (H Index = 16). Dr. Brasil is also professor in the post-graduation program in Biotechnology of the Federal Universitiy of Bahia (Brazil).

Dr. Brasil has experience in the field of Biotechnology, with an emphasis on applied microbiology and molecular genetics for the production of energy and chemicals from renewable sources. In addition, has executive experience in managing R&D projects, technological entrepreneurship, open innovation and public-private partnerships.
