Julie Greene

VP, Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability, Olam International

Julie Greene is Vice President of Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability at Olam International, a leading food and agri-business operating in 70 countries and sourcing products such as cocoa, coffee, cotton, nuts and spices from around 4.8 million farmers globally. Olam’s purpose is to re-imagine global agriculture and food systems in a way that creates prosperous farm and food systems, builds thriving communities and regenerates the living world.

A resident of West Africa for over fifteen years, Ms. Greene fosters sustainable strategies for producing, sourcing and trading agricultural raw materials and products, with particular emphasis on smallholder farmers’ livelihoods. In her prior roles, she built Olam’s cotton business in Cote d’Ivoire, including extension services to 15,000 farmers, cotton ginning, and partnerships (2008-2013), advised young entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone for German Technical Cooperation (GTZ, now GIZ), and worked in post-conflict development for International Rescue Committee (IRC). She is Chairwoman of the Africa Cotton Foundation and has served on the boards of the Better Cotton Initiative and ComCashew.
