Marijke Wijnroks

Chief of Staff, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria

Marijke Wijnroks is a medical doctor and joined the Global Fund as its Chief of Staff in July 2013. In her position she has a broad responsibility and a particular focus on gender and human rights and on engaging with all partners in the cause of global health. In 2017 she served for a period of nine months as Interim Executive Director of the Global Fund.

Before joining the Global Fund, Marijke was Ambassador for HIV/AIDS and Deputy Director for the Social Development Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands, overseeing policy development on HIV, sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender, education, and civil society.
