As manager of the Atlassian Foundation, the philanthropic arm of team collaboration and productivity software company Atlassian, Melissa established the inaugural foundation strategy and now focuses on managing partnerships with not-for-profits and assessing their impact. She is a former broadcast news journalist with seven years' experience at the BBC in London and commercial networks in Sydney. She has also worked in communications for one of Australia's largest education non-profits, The Smith Family and the Salvation Army.
