Raquel Wexler

Mainstreaming Innovation Lead, Office of Global Innovation, UNICEF

Ms. Raquel Wexler is the Mainstreaming Innovation Lead at UNICEF’s Office of Global Innovation. She has worked for more than 30 years in international development - almost 20 years with the United Nations. Her ties to UNICEF date back to 1999 and she been posted in UNICEF offices in Turkey, Burundi and Rwanda to provide as well as Executive Manager in the Office of the Executive Director. She has also served as a Monitoring and Evaluation Adviser to the World Bank and National AIDS Council of Mozambique and managed regional communications for the United Nations Population Fund’s Regional Office of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Ms. Wexler received a Bachelor’s of Science from Georgetown University and two Master’s degrees from the University of Texas at Austin in Latin American Studies and Community and Regional Planning from the School or Architecture. She also completed post-graduate work in public health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Ms. Wexler speaks Spanish, French and Portuguese fluently, and in her free time enjoys taking adventurous surfing road trips with her family.
