Solution Pitch

The Problem

In Bangladesh, 170 million people face primary care shortages, with only one doctor per 10,000 residents. Exacerbated by a lack of general practice systems, this can lead to self-diagnosis and frequent misdiagnoses. Cultural barriers and low digital literacy heighten these challenges, pushing six million annually into poverty due to medical costs.

The Solution

AmarDoctor is an AI-powered digital health platform that revolutionizes access to primary care for Bengali and English speakers.

Through a user-friendly app available on both mobile and web platforms, AmarDoctor enables patients to engage with a voice-interactive health assistant that triages them in their preferred language. This AI assistant efficiently gathers symptoms and medical history, and our accurate specialist recommendation system helps patients find the right specialist, reducing delays in diagnosis and saving money.

Key features include symptom reporting, appointment scheduling, and an interactive dashboard for doctors that offers AI-generated recommendations for clinical decision support. This facilitates quicker, more accurate consultations and personalized treatment plans.

AmarDoctor enhances post-consultation care with customized health education, helping patients manage their health effectively. Our system leverages a bespoke medical ASR trained on extensive audio data, ensuring precise communication and inclusivity for diverse linguistic groups.

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Bangladesh’s primary healthcare is critically weak. AmarDoctor addresses this by providing data-driven virtual consultations for 130 million underserved citizens, starting with the marginalized Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector. The Problem Four million RMG workers face severe healthcare neglect. Factory workloads and management barriers make physical clinics inaccessible, while low digital literacy hinders existing telehealth. Young doctors want to help but lack tools that efficiently capture patient history to minimize consultation time. Consequently, high out-of-pocket emergency costs trap these families in poverty. Our Solution Launching June 1st, AmarDoctor uses AI-driven tools to simplify data collection, enabling doctors to provide rapid, affordable care. By bypassing restrictive factory schedules, we engage workers directly in their tight-knit communities. In the last 6 months we have reached to 100,000 users and facilitated 15,000 virtual consultations.
