Solution Pitch

The Problem

Thirteen years into Syria's conflict, over 2,000,000 Syrian refugee children displaced in neighbouring countries are deprived of education, and 1.3 million are at risk of dropping out. Socioeconomic crises heighten these challenges, leading to child labour and early marriages, risking a lost generation without access to innovative educational interventions.

The Solution

Yeti Confetti for Refugees is an AI-Personalized Learning Companion designed for early childhood education, targeting out-of-school refugee children. It teaches English, Math, and Socio-Emotional Skills through a dynamic, contextually appropriate intervention powered by "three brains and a heart":

1. AI Tutor: Generates interactive, step-by-step activities, tailored to the child's language and learning needs, building literacy and numeracy skills.
2. AI Librarian: Curates 800+ teacher-approved resources, providing real-time, personalized learning materials like songs, audiobooks, and videos.
3. AI Physician: Ensures healthy screen time with breaks every 20 minutes, promoting cognitive and visual well-being.

Yeti, the heart of our solution, fosters a growth mindset, encouraging resilience and positive self-talk. This AI-powered tool adapts to each child’s pace, offering a personalized curriculum and engaging parents and teachers with progress updates, ensuring holistic, effective education for refugee children who can't attend school regularly.

What specific problem are you solving?
Globally, millions of children, especially refugees and multilingual learners, cannot fully access the language of instruction. From Syrian refugee communities to the Bronx, students are disproportionately under-supported and fall behind. 6 in 10 teachers lack the time and tools to differentiate effectively. Educators are overwhelmed by disconnected tools.
What is your solution?
Lirvana Labs’ AI Mission Control (formerly Yeti Confetti for Refugees) is a multilingual, teacher-in-the-loop AI platform designed to close learning gaps for refugee and historically underserved students. Our platform integrates three core capabilities into one cohesive system: 1. Multi-Modal AI Learning Companion delivering interactive reading, writing, speaking, and listening practice with bilingual oral support in 70+ languages, enabling learners to build literacy, numeracy, and English proficiency simultaneously. 2. AI Teacher Copilot that analyzes real-time student performance to identify learning gaps, recommend targeted interventions, generate differentiated lesson plans, and draft feedback, reducing teacher workload while increasing instructional precision. 3. Data-to-Action Infrastructure that integrates with school systems, translating classroom evidence into clear, equity-focused insights for educators and school leaders. Grounded in human oversight, the platform builds academic skills alongside confidence, growth mindset, and learner agency. What began in refugee learning centers in Lebanon now supports district-scale implementation across the U.S. and internationally.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
We serve refugee and multilingual learners, including Syrian refugee students in Lebanon and high-MLL districts such as the Bronx, NYC, where many students speak a language other than English at home. Our solution enables children to access grade-level instruction while strengthening both home-language comprehension and English development, resulting in accelerated academic growth and increased classroom confidence. We support teachers working in high-need environments by transforming fragmented student data into actionable instructional decisions. Educators gain time back, improve differentiation, and feel more equipped to meet diverse learner needs without cognitive overload. At the systems level, districts and ministries use our equity-centered analytics to identify opportunity gaps early and deploy targeted support. Families receive visibility into student progress, fostering stronger home–school alignment. Together, we are building scalable AI infrastructure that ensures refugee, multilingual, and low-income learners are not left behind, whether in humanitarian contexts or major public education systems.
