The energy transition is accelerating; solar, wind, and batteries are reshaping how the world powers itself. Despite these gains, decades of slow mitigation and minimal adaptation continue to intensify the climate crisis—whether in under-resourced regions, coastal communities, or urban settings.

MIT Solve’s 2027 Climate Global Challenge will seek exceptional tech-based solutions that shift how cities and agriculture operate to allow for deeper decarbonization, and help adapt oceans and ecosystems under new climate-aware economies.
