Our Solution

Project Find Out

Our tagline:

Help us find the lost that were lost in translation.

Our pitch:

Project find me, is about Community development. It will solve many problems, but first being able to find myself. The Navajo Nation is the land of the lost. to this day we do not have basic rural addressing. Emergency services have a hard time finding us, Law enforcement is useless by the time they reach us. I hope to fix this by using Geospatial Information Systems by using ARC GIS Online. This System I am using will not only geotag there houses, but I am also creating a database of every house for statistical data to use in our land use plan. this will not only lead to rural addressing, but also build data to be used for Land Use Plans. The only conflicts we face is funding, language, and wary individuals that don't wanna cooperate.

How we use technology in our project:

The app has already been used in many applications in major cities, I am gearing it towards rural addressing along with community development. The app is called collector by ArcGIS.

What makes our project innovative:

It replaces the old obsolete way of gathering data on the Navajo nation. instead of stacked paper work a data base will be created of every Chapter.

How our project will be accessible and affordable to our community:

Through BIA contracts ArcGIS is free to a certain extent. the app is part of AGOL, so we had to purchase that. It would be accessible to only leaders due to personal information of each household. The information will be used for our land use plan.

I have identified every house in our chapter, We will be serving them by providing a address then can then use for mail and physical address.

Our future project goals:

to be found. the project will start right away as it can save money to get mail, and most importantly save a life or two with emergency services being able to locate them.

Highlights from our project:

Working with many great educators, also getting help from outside resources such as SMA. Being encouraged by others who are ahead in there profession.

Just happy I'm did something, instead of talking about it.
