I love the idea of using Technology to tackle pressing social and environmental challenges while promoting social interaction at the same time.
I love the idea of bringing people in urban areas together around plants, both indoor and outdoors. Urban areas can become deserts without planning "green" spaces. I think this app could go a long way to bringing more "green" into urban areas for individual and community betterment. The app will also increase knowledge about various types of plants, the plant's needs for food and water and the plant's benefits to people and the environment; creating an awareness of the health of our earth and human interaction with the earth. The smart stick would be extremely useful in the care of adopted, gifted and purchased plants.
The possibility of networks within and beyond communities globally is extremely high; leading to friendships, neighborhood relationships, community building, and entrepreneurship on both a micro and macro level.
