What specific problem are you solving?
In Nigeria, 41% food inflation and inefficient supply chains make nutritious food inaccessible for 87% of rural farmers (100M people) and urban poor. Over 90M youth face unemployment while agriculture remains stigmatized as "backward." Globally, climate change exacerbates these challenges, with Africa's food demand projected to double by 2050. Key issues we address: -Nutritional Poverty: 37% of Nigerian children under-5 suffer stunting due to micronutrient-deficient diets (UNICEF). Rural farmers grow only starch-heavy staples, lacking access to biofortified seeds. -Resource Inefficiency: Traditional farming uses 80% of freshwater and 50% of arable land yet yields decline due to soil degradation (FAO). -Youth Disengagement: 70% of Nigeria's population is under 30, but only 1.2% pursue agriculture (World Bank). Our solar-powered smart farms directly tackle these by: -Circular Systems: Combining fish, poultry and crops in one unit uses 90% less water/land -Nutrition: Enabling biofortified crop production in rural homes -Youth Inclusion: Tech-driven school farms increase agricultural engagement by 82% Scale: -Local: 100M rural Nigerians affected -Global: 828M face hunger (FAO 2023), with climate change worsening food insecurity
What is your solution?
Agrisiti builds solar-powered Smart Agri-Pyramid Systems (SAP-Sys) - compact, circular farming units that grow fish, poultry and vegetables simultaneously. Each 2m² pyramid: 1. Integrates Ecosystems: Fish waste fertilizes plants, plants filter water for fish, and poultry provides natural pest control 2. Runs on Solar: Photovoltaic panels power water pumps and sensors, overcoming grid instability 3. Uses Smart Tech: IoT sensors monitor water pH, temperature and feed levels, sending alerts via SMS/USSD Key features: • 4X Higher Yields: Vertical design produces 4x more food than traditional farming per square meter • Water Efficient: Recirculates 90% of water vs conventional irrigation • Plug-and-Play: Pre-assembled for easy installation in homes, schools or communities We complement hardware with: • Digital Training: USSD/SMS courses for farmers without smartphones • School Farm Programs: Hands-on agritech curriculum increasing youth participation by 82% • Market Links: App connecting producers to buyers Technology stack: • Renewable energy (solar) • IoT sensors (water/soil monitoring) From urban balconies to rural villages, our systems enable anyone to grow nutritious food with minimal space, water or expertise.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
