What specific problem are you solving?
Many Indigenous Nations in Canada have financial and strategic goals they are reaching toward. However, many First Nations make goals based on an ideal state with no financial facts to back them up. In other words they are pie in the sky. My solution brings them to earth by providing strategic financial insights based no their actual individual performance such as financial self-sufficiency.
What is your solution?
Sklow Analytics analyzes First Nations financial statements. It measures financial performance toward stated strategic goals but also uncovers previously unknown financial performance indicators. We are able to measure individual First Nation performance but also aggregate to understand the collective Indigenous economic performance based on real data. We use python to automate database building and analysis. We enhance analysis through machine learning and AI analysis.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
First Nations in Canada are primarily served to start with. However, the intention is to eventually grow the solution to serve those who uplift Indigenous peoples including financial institutions and governments. For example, financial institutions may use the solution to pre-qualify First Nations for credit or to monitor credit quality. The Bank of Canada is interested in using the data to have a more accurate understanding of the Indigenous economy in real time.
