What specific problem are you solving?
Teachers are leaving the profession at alarming rates. In the U.S. alone, 44% of educators leave within their first five years, contributing to a $2.2 billion annual turnover crisis. The root cause isn’t poor training or lack of content—it’s emotional overload. Teachers are absorbing trauma, facing unrelenting stress, and navigating classroom challenges without adequate support systems.
Existing professional development focuses on compliance or curriculum. Mental health resources are generic and inaccessible during the moments teachers need them most. Coaching programs are expensive and often limited to a handful of staff.
This gap – between daily emotional strain and meaningful, timely support – is one of the most pressing challenges in education today. It’s not just a workforce issue. When teachers burn out, students lose continuity, safety, and long-term connection.
The scale is global. Across regions, teachers in under-resourced communities report similar stressors, exacerbated by larger class sizes, trauma-impacted students, and limited access to mental health care.
Without new systems of support, especially those that are proactive, personalized, and accessible on-demand, the profession will continue to see high turnover and emotional exhaustion.
MentorAI is designed to change that.
What is your solution?
MentorAI is an AI-powered, trauma-aware mentor designed to support teachers emotionally and professionally – right when they need it most.
More than a chatbot, MentorAI uses a layered coaching engine that detects a teacher’s emotional state, career stage, and context based on natural language inputs. It draws from a library of over 100 embedded, research-backed coaching resources – including trauma-informed practices, SEL, nonviolent communication, and practical classroom strategies.
Through multi-modal support (chat, voice coaching, role-play scenarios, and downloadable scripts or PDFs), MentorAI responds in real time with the right tool or reflection prompt for the moment. Whether it’s helping a teacher de-escalate after a tough class, preparing for a difficult parent conversation, or resetting emotionally before the next bell, MentorAI acts like a trusted coach on-call.
Built with educators, not just for them, MentorAI’s insights are co-designed by teachers and tested through early pilots. It integrates easily into existing workflows and requires no training to use.
Our goal isn’t to make teachers more productive. It’s to help them stay emotionally grounded, professionally supported, and connected to why they started teaching in the first place.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
MentorAI serves K–12 educators – especially early-career teachers, teachers in under-resourced schools, and those experiencing emotional exhaustion, secondary trauma, or burnout.
These educators often navigate daily challenges alone: escalating student behaviors, emotionally charged parent conversations, overwhelming administrative demands, and the internal weight of wanting to do it all well. While professional development focuses on curriculum and compliance, what many teachers need is someone to talk to – a mentor to process the emotional toll of teaching and help them reset, refocus, and stay grounded.
MentorAI provides that support in real time. Through AI-powered, trauma-aware coaching, teachers receive personalized guidance, reflective prompts, role-play tools, and emotional regulation strategies – delivered in the moment, in the format they need (chat, voice, podcast-style audio, or printable scripts).
By improving emotional resilience, helping teachers reconnect with their professional purpose, and offering tools they can use immediately, MentorAI empowers educators to stay in the classroom, feel more confident in their work, and experience greater well-being. The ripple effect is significant: when teachers feel supported, students experience more consistent, connected, and compassionate learning environments.
