What specific problem are you solving?
In Kenya, football remains largely informal and financially unsustainable, leaving players, coaches, and clubs without structured income, contracts, or career development pathways. Despite the introduction of sports-focused schools under the CBC curriculum and growing youth interest in football, there is no digital infrastructure to support the sport as a viable profession. Most teams lack access to essential resources like affordable equipment, reliable funding, and platforms for generating revenue through ticket sales, merchandise, or sponsorships. Additionally, opportunities such as scholarships, training, and business partnerships are fragmented and inaccessible, especially for grassroots clubs. This lack of coordination and economic support perpetuates unemployment and discourages youth participation in sports beyond a recreational level. Our solution addresses this gap by offering a centralized digital platform where teams can register, manage operations, sell merchandise and tickets, access discounted supplies, form partnerships, and connect with scholarships and football support programs—ultimately transforming football into a tool for employment, education, and empowerment.
What is your solution?
Our solution is a mobile-first digital platform designed to turn football into a sustainable career path in Kenya. It allows football teams—ranging from grassroots to national leagues—to register officially and access tools that help them grow economically and professionally. Teams can sell match tickets, merchandise, and memberships directly through the platform, creating new income streams. They can also access discounted kits and supplies from verified partners and form sponsorship and business partnerships to support their operations.
The platform features a centralized database of scholarships, training programs, and employment opportunities in sports—locally and globally—allowing players and coaches to explore real career growth. It also includes features for creating digital contracts for players and coaches to formalize employment.
Built using web and mobile technologies with a user-friendly interface, the system integrates mobile money platforms like M-Pesa for payments and offers optional USSD support for low-internet users. The platform aims to provide equal access, transparency, and long-term sustainability, making football not just a game—but a pathway to employment, education, and empowerment.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Our solution directly serves football players, coaches, team managers, and youth in Kenya—particularly those in underserved communities across county, sub-county, and grassroots levels. These individuals often operate in informal environments without employment contracts, stable income, or access to essential resources like training, equipment, and career opportunities. Despite their talent and passion, many are excluded from economic opportunities due to lack of digital tools, connections, and structured support.
Our platform empowers them by offering a space to register their teams, generate income through ticket and merchandise sales, and access affordable supplies. It connects them to local and international scholarships, sports training, and job opportunities, helping them transition from informal participation to structured, professional careers. For coaches and managers, it offers tools to manage their clubs efficiently and build business partnerships that support sustainability. By digitizing and formalizing football operations, the platform creates new paths for employment, education, and self-reliance—transforming football from a hobby into a life-changing opportunity.
