Africa’s urban transport is heavily reliant on motorcycle taxis (moto-taxis), particularly in cities where public transport is inadequate. However, the industry faces three major challenges:
High Operating Costs: Fuel price volatility and expensive maintenance make petrol-powered motorbikes financially unsustainable for drivers.
Environmental Impact: Traditional fuel dependent motorcycles contribute significantly to air pollution and carbon emissions, worsening urban air quality.
Limited financial inclusion: Many moto-taxi drivers struggle to access financing for better vehicles due to a lack of credit history and financial resources.

Nyambe Energy is electrifying the moto-taxi industry by connecting the renewable-powered battery swapping solutions’ owners, the Motorcycle Taxis drivers and the rides’ customers, fostering the adoption of E-motorcycles. To this end, Nyambe Energy is committed to providing financial solutions to both the Battery Swapping Stations’ owners and the fueled motorcycle Taxis Drivers.
Nyambe Energy aims to create a scalable, ESG-aligned business model that reduces emissions, lowers costs to drivers, increase profitability to battery swapping stations providers, lower rides’ prices for customer and aligns with government and broader global sustainability development goals.
