What specific problem are you solving?
Oya Femtech Apparel addresses a critical, underrecognized global health challenge: the prevention and early detection of feminine infections exacerbated by toxic, non-breathable clothing. Over 1 billion women globally experience conditions such as urinary tract infections (UTIs), yeast infections, and bacterial vaginosis (BV), with recurrence rates as high as 69%. In the U.S. alone, women spend over $43.3 billion annually on treatment. Military women face these issues at drastically higher rates—up to 30x more than civilians—due to heat-trapping, unventilated uniforms and limited access to hygiene resources. Studies show 87% of deployed women report vaginal symptoms, and 48% report declines in work performance. These infections are not just uncomfortable—they lead to missed work, chronic pain, and in severe cases, reproductive health complications.
Traditional sportswear and tactical gear are made with fabrics that trap moisture and contain endocrine-disrupting toxins like BPA and PFAS. Oya solves this by integrating patented moisture-wicking, antimicrobial fabrics and biomarker-based diagnostic inserts into comfortable, non-toxic apparel. Our approach is preventive, scalable, and grounded in both clinical validation and end-user testing—delivering a tech-enabled, human-centered solution to a widespread women’s health crisis.
What is your solution?
Oya Femtech Apparel creates innovative, antimicrobial performance wear that prevents and detects feminine health issues in real time. Our patented technology is embedded in underwear, leggings, and bras designed specifically for women in high-sweat environments—such as military personnel, athletes, and aging women.
The core innovation lies in our moisture-wicking, breathable fabric system combined with a removable, antimicrobial insert. This insert absorbs sweat and discharge while reducing bacteria that can lead to UTIs, yeast infections, and bacterial vaginosis. Our latest insert design incorporates biomarker technology that changes color when it detects pH imbalances and other early infection indicators—functioning as a passive, non-invasive health diagnostic tool embedded directly into everyday clothing.
Unlike traditional sportswear, Oya’s apparel is free from PFAS, BPA, and other toxic chemicals. It is HSA/FSA eligible and meets California’s Prop 65 standards. Products are clinically validated and developed in partnership with OB/GYNs, military leaders, and textile scientists.
By turning everyday garments into wearable health tools, Oya offers a tech-enabled, user-friendly solution to a massive, overlooked global health challenge.

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Oya serves women who are disproportionately affected by infections caused by heat, sweat, and toxic fabrics—particularly military women, athletes, and aging women. These populations face high physical stress and limited access to preventive gynecological care, resulting in significantly elevated rates of UTIs, yeast infections, and bacterial vaginosis. For example, 87% of deployed U.S. military women report vaginal symptoms, and 48% report a decline in work performance due to these issues. Civilian women, especially those in perimenopause or postpartum stages, also face recurring infections due to hormonal shifts and lifestyle factors.
These women are underserved by both the medical system and apparel industry. Standard-issue uniforms and commercial sportswear often trap moisture and contain harmful chemicals like BPA and PFAS, exacerbating health issues. Oya’s solution replaces toxic fabrics with breathable, antimicrobial textiles and integrates color-changing inserts that detect early signs of infection—offering comfort, prevention, and real-time health insights.
By merging wearable tech with functional fashion, Oya empowers women to manage their health discreetly, reduces sick time and reliance on antibiotics, and improves quality of life, performance, and dignity for a historically overlooked population.
