What specific problem are you solving?
Across the globe, over 970 million people suffer from emotional and neurological dysregulation, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, autism spectrum disorders, and psychosomatic syndromes. These conditions are often co-morbid and resistant to monomodal interventions. Existing mental health tools lack real-time, biologically responsive feedback, rendering them insufficient for individuals requiring moment-to-moment co-regulation. Furthermore, clinical resources are overburdened, while neurodiverse individuals are systematically underserved due to sensory sensitivities or communication barriers.
From a neurobiological standpoint, such conditions are characterized by impaired autonomic balance, chronic sympathetic dominance, and disrupted neuromodulation involving GABA, dopamine, BDNF, and serotonin systems. Environmental stressors, trauma imprinting, and unprocessed affective loads further contribute to long-term allostatic overload and neurochemical exhaustion. There is a clear need for adaptive, science-backed, and portable systems that can provide non-invasive, precise, and dynamically adjustable stimulation tailored to real-time physiological states. AION addresses this by offering a closed-loop neuroadaptive platform that senses, interprets, and responds to emotional dysregulation at its biological roots—through intelligent multisensory intervention.
What is your solution?
AION is a neuroadaptive multisensory system that detects, analyzes, and therapeutically responds to emotional dysregulation in real time. It integrates biometric sensors (EEG, HRV, GSR, EMG, infrared thermography) and emotional AI (via AI Face) to construct a neuro-affective profile of the user’s internal state. This profile dynamically drives three simultaneous, non-invasive interventions:
• Vibrotactile stimulation across cranial and spinal autonomic pathways, modulating vagal tone and rebalancing sympathetic-parasympathetic activity
• Photobiomodulation (630–850nm) acting on cytochrome c oxidase to enhance mitochondrial ATP production, BDNF expression, and neural repair
• Binaural neuroacoustics, matched to individual EEG frequencies (SMR, alpha, theta), to facilitate entrainment and thalamocortical synchrony
The system, created by Dr. Dimitrios G. Kimoglou, operates through a closed-loop AI engine trained to detect arousal shifts and dysautonomic patterns, adjusting interventions in real time. AION fosters neurotransmitter modulation (serotonin, GABA, dopamine) and neurohormonal regulation without pharmacological agents.
This intelligent interface functions as a digital co-regulator, providing personalized neuromodulation across clinical, home, and neurodevelopmental contexts. As both inventor and clinical neuroscientist, Dr. Kimoglou designed AION to bridge biosignal analysis with precise, adaptive therapeutic feedback.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
AION serves individuals with diverse neurological and emotional regulation needs, including autistic children, adults with PTSD, anxiety disorders, depression, burnout, and psychosomatic dysregulation. Its design also extends to cognitively healthy individuals seeking enhanced emotional resilience, performance optimization, and nervous system balance.
The system offers real-time, non-verbal, adaptive therapeutic feedback based on biometric data. For neurodivergent populations, AION bypasses cognitive overload and offers predictable, gentle sensory feedback that aligns with their neurological profiles. For trauma-affected users, it delivers vagally-mediated modulation that downregulates hyperactive amygdalar circuits and restores prefrontal control. For those in sympathetic overdrive, AION re-establishes autonomic homeostasis via entrainment and neuromodulation.
Developed by Dr. Dimitrios G. Kimoglou, AION’s clinical logic is rooted in neuroimmunology, psychoneuroendocrinology, and applied neurotechnology. Its interface empowers users to become co-regulators of their own system—transforming emotional instability into self-awareness and control.
AION is compact, affordable, and scalable across educational, therapeutic, and self-use environments. It represents a shift from passive intervention to intelligent, adaptive neurotherapeutics—offering dignity, agency, and scientifically grounded relief to individuals too often underserved by traditional approaches.
