What specific problem are you solving?
"In Tunisia, children and adolescents—especially those in low-income public schools—face limited access to quality education on critical topics like harassment, risky behavior, gender equality, and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). Over 70% of teenagers report receiving no formal SRHR education, and more than half are unaware of available services. These challenges are intensified for children with disabilities, who often face stigma, exclusion, and a lack of inclusive educational tools. Traditional teaching methods frequently fail to engage young learners or to provide safe spaces for discussing sensitive topics. Cultural taboos and insufficient teacher training further limit the reach and impact of existing approaches. Risky behaviors—such as early sexual activity, peer pressure, and unsafe digital interactions—are increasingly alarming, prompting urgent calls from government and civil society for innovative, scalable solutions. There is a pressing need to improve access to engaging, context-relevant, and inclusive learning tools—especially in underserved public schools. Tools that foster empathy, critical thinking, and informed decision-making can help break cycles of ignorance and vulnerability and build a generation that is informed, empowered, and resilient."

"TALIM (Technologies Avancées pour un Leadership Immersif et Moderne) is an immersive educational solution that uses Virtual Reality (VR) and AI-powered storytelling to help children understand and respond to harassment, risky behavior, gender-based violence, and sexual and reproductive health challenges. At the heart of TALIM is a VR game where learners step into realistic, age-appropriate scenarios and make decisions that lead to different outcomes. The narratives are driven by AI decision trees that adapt the experience based on the learner’s choices, making each session personal and engaging. The solution includes a web-based platform that allows educators to schedule VR sessions, access training materials, and track student engagement and behavioral insights. Designed with accessibility in mind, TALIM also supports children with disabilities through inclusive interaction features. Co-created with educators, sociologists, and youth mentors, TALIM ensures cultural relevance and emotional safety. Piloted in three public schools in Tunisia, TALIM empowers students to think critically, build empathy, and speak up in real life. It also equips teachers with tools to guide students through sensitive topics. TALIM is a scalable, modular tool that helps schools—especially in low-income settings—foster safer, more inclusive, and emotionally intelligent learning environments."
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
"TALIM primarily serves children aged 10 to 15 in public schools across Tunisia, especially in underserved areas where awareness of gender equality, risky behaviors, and sexual and reproductive health is low. The solution also benefits children with disabilities by offering inclusive VR environments designed with accessible features. Educators are a secondary target: 10 young education professionals are trained to facilitate the immersive experiences in school-based clubs, enhancing their digital and pedagogical skills. Parents and school leaders are engaged through awareness sessions to ensure community support. TALIM empowers children to explore difficult topics in safe, emotionally engaging simulations. By experiencing interactive scenarios, they learn to recognize danger, express themselves, and make informed decisions. The experience also builds empathy, respect, and communication skills. For children with disabilities, this represents a rare opportunity for active, inclusive participation in learning. Ultimately, TALIM creates safer school environments, reduces stigma around taboo topics, and promotes long-term behavioral change. It helps children feel seen, heard, and equipped to protect themselves and others."
