What specific problem are you solving?
Nigeria’s healthcare system relies heavily on informal frontline providers, yet the medical supply chain that sustains them is deeply fragmented. Over 200,000 Patent and Proprietary Medicine Vendors (PPMVs) serve as the first point of care for 6 in 10 Nigerians, especially in low-income and peri-urban communities (PharmAccess Foundation, 2020). However, these providers face chronic stockouts, poor access to verified distributors, and no structured or data-driven procurement systems. A 2021 survey by the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria found that 68% of health facilities report regular monthly stockouts. The World Health Organization (2017) further estimates that 1 in 10 medical products in LMICs is substandard or falsified. The market is largely informal, with most PPMVs buying from chaotic open drug markets. Lacking inventory systems, credit access, or forecasting tools, they rely on guesswork and face high inefficiencies. With 74.9% of health spending being out-of-pocket (World Bank, 2022) and less than 5% of the population covered by health insurance (NHIS, 2022), millions depend on providers who struggle to stock affordable, quality medicines. Without scalable tech to digitize procurement, credit, and inventory, these providers and the communities they serve will remain trapped in a cycle of poor care and preventable deaths.
What is your solution?
Radease is a technology solution that helps community healthcare providers, such as PPMVs and community pharmacies, source genuine medications, manage inventory, access working capital, and gain business insights, all through a simple, integrated system. The platform connects these providers directly with verified suppliers, ensuring transparency and traceability across the entire supply chain, from sourcing to delivery. Community healthcare providers can efficiently track stock levels, automate reordering, and access credit to restock when needed, while also leveraging real-time data to optimize inventory management and reduce wastage. By digitizing procurement processes and enhancing supply chain visibility, Radease empowers frontline health providers to offer better care to their communities with genuine, quality-assured products.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Radease serves community healthcare providers in Nigeria, particularly PPMVs (Patent and Proprietary Medicine Vendors) & community pharmacies, who are critical in delivering healthcare to the majority of Nigerians. These community healthcare providers are often underserved by traditional supply chains and work in resource-limited settings, making it difficult to access quality medicines and manage their operations effectively. By connecting these health providers directly to verified suppliers, Radease ensures they can easily access genuine medications and medical supplies, significantly reducing the risks of counterfeit products and stockouts. Our platform also enables them to manage their inventory efficiently by providing real-time tracking, helping them avoid shortages and waste, and improving their overall operational efficiency.
