Film your elevator pitch.
What specific problem are you solving?
Where it stands today, Puerto Rico (Boriken), has a fragile energy infrastructure which is vulnerable to storms, and mismanagement by the conglomerate energy corporations. Power outages run rampant and essential services like hospitals and farms face energy instability as a result. This interdependence negatively affects indigenous communities and land stewards without representation as these limited frameworks do not prioritize the native people of Boriken.
What is your solution?
This proposal aims to rebuild resilience for the Indigenous-American economy through data and energy sovereignty, creating renewable, sustainable solar grids which breaks reliance on non-renewable fossil fuels. Establishing a micro-roaster in Jersey city and Puerto Rico, with circular-heat systems in coffee roasting, our infrastructure increases energy efficiency, decreases carbon emissions and ensures energy, even during blackouts. Restoring domestic farming practices and regenerative economies ensures profits flow back to the people.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Our concept will serve and support farm restoration and Industry 4.0 automation to create new careers in this sector. These new roles will benefit the Indigenous communities of P.R. and mainland United States through our network of connections in NYC and Jersey City. Coffee traded under UCC articles 2 & 9 will ensure full documentation and sustainable practices, setting down the groundwork for blockchain secured indigenous trade systems. Allowing for Taino and U.S. stakeholders to govern trades, protect cultural assets and generate a flourishing autonomous economy.
