EXPOSE addresses the systemic lack of access to STEAM education and career pathways for women and youth in underserved communities. Globally, women make up only 28% of the workforce in STEM-related fields, and youth from low-income or underrepresented backgrounds often face multiple barriers to entry ranging from limited exposure and lack of mentorship to financial insecurity and digital exclusion. This lack of access contributes to a broader economic inequality, limiting opportunities for upward mobility and reducing participation in the digital economy. Without targeted interventions, these disparities perpetuate generational cycles of poverty and marginalization. Our solution provides a comprehensive approach that combines mentorship, digital skills development, and STEAM-focused education to equip women and youth with the tools they need to thrive in the modern workforce. By creating inclusive, culturally responsive programming, EXPOSE helps bridge the gender and opportunity gap unlocking new pathways to education, employment, and economic self-sufficiency.

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Our solution serves women and youth from underserved communities, with a focus on individuals from minority racial and ethnic backgrounds and low-income areas who face systemic barriers to education, mentorship, and career access. These populations are significantly underrepresented in STEAM fields, often due to a lack of exposure, limited resources, and minimal access to professional networks or industry role models. By offering mentorship, hands-on training, and exposure to real-world STEAM careers, our program provides participants with the tools and confidence to succeed in a rapidly evolving, technology-driven economy. Youth and young adults engage in practical learning experiences such as coding, robotics, drone building, and digital storytelling while receiving guidance from mentors who look like them and understand their lived experiences. The program also supports soft skills development, including communication, leadership, financial literacy, and career planning. Participants leave with a clearer sense of purpose, stronger self-esteem, and actionable steps toward college, workforce entry, or entrepreneurship. In the long term, this solution helps close the opportunity gap, strengthens economic mobility, and supports the creation of more inclusive, equitable communities empowering the next generation of women and youth to become leaders, innovators, and changemakers in their fields.
