What specific problem are you solving?
Hundreds of millions of frontline workers and vulnerable populations around the world lack access to relevant, affordable, and accessible learning opportunities. In Latin America, where Excuela operates, over 50% of workers are employed informally, without access to structured education or training (World Bank, 2023). MSMEs represent 99% of businesses in the region, yet most cannot afford traditional corporate learning solutions (OECD, 2023). These realities limit upskilling, productivity, and economic mobility; particularly for women, older adults, and rural populations.
At a global level, 250 million children have no access to formal learning, and hundreds of millions of adults lack foundational and durable skills (UNESCO, 2023). Many live in low-connectivity, low-infrastructure environments where most digital learning tools simply don’t work.
Excuela addresses this by focusing on the intersection of accessibility, relevance, and behaviorally effective learning. We tackle the structural barriers that exclude underserved populations from education by offering mobile-first, low-data, offline-capable learning experiences designed for real-world contexts; ensuring that learning is not a privilege, but a tool for mobility, dignity, and opportunity.
What is your solution?
Excuela is a mobile-first learning platform that delivers accessible, low-data training to frontline workers and underserved communities. It transforms passive content (like slide decks or PDFs) into interactive, micro-learning modules that users can complete on basic smartphones, even with limited or no internet access.
Our platform uses AI to generate quizzes, scenarios, and engagement prompts, and is trained by an in-house team of instructional designers and educators to ensure that the content is pedagogically sound and contextually relevant. Once the first AI-generated version is ready, our team refines it for quality and impact.
Excuela is more than content delivery; it also serves as a communication tool. Organizations can send segmented messages (like company announcements or public health campaigns) and automatically generate short quizzes to assess comprehension using AI.
We provide dashboards that track engagement, completion, and behavior change; enabling partners to measure learning outcomes in real time.
Used across sectors like agriculture, mining, retail, and financial inclusion, Excuela has already trained over 100,000 users and is on track to reach 2 million more by 2025.

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Excuela serves frontline workers and vulnerable populations who are often excluded from traditional education and digital training tools. This includes agricultural laborers, mining operators, retail employees, informal workers, women in low-wage jobs, older adults, and rural communities; many of whom face barriers like low connectivity, limited digital literacy, and inflexible work schedules.
These individuals are underserved because most learning platforms assume stable internet, academic motivation, or formal education backgrounds. As a result, they lack access to the training needed to grow professionally, improve their income, or access better opportunities.
Excuela addresses these barriers by offering mobile-first, low-data, and offline-capable microlearning, specifically designed for workers with limited time, resources, or access. Content is contextualized, short, and directly applicable to their daily lives; focusing on topics like productivity, workplace safety, financial inclusion, and sustainability.
By bringing education to the palm of their hand, Excuela helps these users build confidence, develop skills, and access better opportunities; ultimately contributing to greater social mobility and economic resilience for individuals, families, and communities.
