What specific problem are you solving?
P-Vita tackles the dual climate challenge of high carbon emissions and agricultural waste mismanagement in the MENA region. With over 95% of synthetic ingredients in the food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries imported, the region faces inflated costs, shipment delays, and a heavy carbon footprint. Egypt produces millions of tons of agricultural waste, much of which is burned or dumped, releasing harmful emissions and damaging ecosystems. Our solution transforms this waste into high-value, plant-based ingredients using biotechnology, AI, and IoT. By localizing raw material production, we eliminate the need for carbon-intensive imports and reduce the use of harmful synthetic alternatives that contribute to pollution and health risks. P-Vita partners with smallholder farmers to collect waste, supporting circular economy models while addressing climate mitigation at the source. Our technology reduces the carbon footprint by over 58,000 tons annually, enhances supply chain resilience, and aligns with global zero-carbon goals.
What is your solution?
P-Vita has developed a patented, automated IoT-enabled bioconversion system that transforms algae and agricultural waste into high-value, vegan raw materials. Our technology provides cost-effective, natural alternatives for the food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries, helping stabilize supply chains, reduce reliance on costly imports, and promote sustainability. The system uses AI-driven smart sensors and neural machine learning (NML) to optimize the extraction process for maximum yield and purity, significantly reducing synthetic ingredients use, carbon footprint and waste. We extract beta-carotene, pectin, omega-3, and biofertilizer. This approach reduces carbon emissions by over 58,000 tons We operate through a licensing model, enabling manufacturers to adopt our eco-friendly system without the need for large R&D or infrastructure investments. By working with smallholder farmers to collect waste, we support local economies while accelerating the shift to a circular economy https://youtu.be/Pt1UUrj0Sjo?si=zQcBf85ZuhPtzjcS
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Our solution directly serves two underserved populations: smallholder farmers and manufacturers in the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical sectors and in developing regions, particularly in MENA Manufacturers currently face rising costs and supply chain instability due to reliance on imported synthetic raw materials. These ingredients are expensive, unsustainable, and contribute heavily to carbon emissions. Our patented algae-based bioconversion system enables them to locally produce affordable, natural alternatives like beta-carotene, reducing both costs and emissions—by up to 58,000 tons of CO₂ annually—while stabilizing supply chains. Smallholder farmers struggle with unaffordable fertilizer prices and the harmful impact of chemical alternatives on soil and water quality. By integrating algae and agri-waste into biofertilizer and feed supplements, our solution offers SHFs eco-friendly, low-cost inputs and reducing groundwater pollution. Farmers also benefit from new income streams through waste collection cooperatives. Beyond environmental gains, our model generates local job opportunities in waste processing and sustainable manufacturing, while empowering communities through entrepreneurship and skill-building programs. By fostering sustainable agriculture, lowering carbon footprints, and supporting inclusive economic growth, our solution creates scalable impact aligned with SDGs 3, 13, and 8.
