What specific problem are you solving?
Across Latin America, millions of young people finish high school without access to higher education or decent jobs, especially in rural or marginalized areas. At the same time, thousands of microentrepreneurs run informal businesses with no digital presence, legal identity, or basic business tools. Both groups face barriers to economic mobility due to lack of technical skills, institutional support, and access to relevant, culturally adapted training.
Youth are often forced into unstable, informal work, while local entrepreneurs cannot grow or access credit because they remain invisible to the formal economy. Digital illiteracy and poor internet access further limit their options. Existing solutions are often too complex, expensive, or disconnected from real-world needs.
This dual exclusion results in lost potential, economic stagnation, and intergenerational poverty. ChaskiLAB addresses this by targeting these underserved groups with practical, low-cost, and culturally relevant tools that combine rapid skill development with guided formalization. It aims to close the gap between talent and opportunity for those left out of traditional systems.
What is your solution?
ChaskiLAB is a hybrid platform that empowers economically vulnerable youth and local entrepreneurs through rapid skills training and business formalization. Users access practical micro-courses (2–6 weeks) on topics such as digital sales, mobile repair, and basic AI tools via mobile-friendly web and WhatsApp interfaces.
Simultaneously, entrepreneurs use a guided digital assistant to name their business, design a logo, calculate prices, and formalize their enterprise. The platform also generates a public digital profile for each business or individual, increasing their visibility and credibility.
ChaskiLAB is designed for people with limited digital access and education, using simple language and culturally relevant examples. It bridges the gap between informal talent and formal opportunity by combining learning, branding, and formalization in one accessible system. Its goal is to foster economic mobility from the ground up.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
ChaskiLAB serves two primary groups: (1) youth aged 16–25 who are out of school or underemployed, and (2) microentrepreneurs in informal sectors, including women, artisans, and rural workers. These individuals often have talent, motivation, and potential—but lack access to tools that could help them succeed.
Our platform provides short, skill-based courses in areas like digital sales, phone repair, or basic AI applications, enabling young people to monetize their knowledge quickly. For entrepreneurs, ChaskiLAB offers a step-by-step assistant to name their business, design a brand, calculate prices, and register formally—all through simple web tools or WhatsApp.
Most importantly, ChaskiLAB builds visibility. Entrepreneurs can create a public profile for their business, even if they’ve never used a website before. Youth can earn digital certificates and build a portfolio they can share with potential clients or employers.
By making learning and formalization accessible, ChaskiLAB helps people generate income, build confidence, and access economic systems from which they were excluded. It creates immediate value while opening doors to longer-term growth.
