What specific problem are you solving?
Amagi Health Ltd is tackling the growing crisis of cognitive decline and dementia in the Caribbean, where midlife and older adults face soaring risks due to underdiagnosed conditions, fragmented care, and limited access to brain health services. Our work squarely addresses the burden of dementia and brain health inequity in the Caribbean and other under-resourced contexts—where gaps in timely detection, system preparedness, and interprofessional response mirror the pandemic’s systemic fractures. Our North Star: By 2035, Amagi will reach 1 million midlife and older adults across the Caribbean, helping reduce modifiable dementia risks and alleviating the burden on health systems.
What is your solution?
Our innovation, Cognitive Compass, combines technology and training to transform this landscape. Cognitive Compass is an AI-powered platform that equips healthcare providers and newly trained Brain Health Navigators (BHNs) to deliver timely dementia risk screening, personalized recommendations, and proactive brain health management. Through integrated clinical workflows, community resource directories, and data-driven decision support, we aim to reduce modifiable dementia risk factors and delay cognitive decline. In partnership with regional healthcare providers, insurers, and governments, we are piloting this solution in Jamaica, combining SaaS licensing, practitioner training, and cognitive health services to ensure scalable, sustainable impact.
Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?
Cognitive Compass serves midlife and older adults in the Caribbean at risk for dementia, along with their families, caregivers, and primary care providers. These populations are vastly underserved—living in systems where cognitive decline is often missed, misdiagnosed, or treated too late. Families face fragmented care, emotional burnout, and out-of-pocket costs without reliable guidance. Our solution transforms this reality by pairing digital tools with trained Brain Health Navigators (BHNs) who screen for risk, provide culturally grounded support, and help families access timely, coordinated care. We focus on people who otherwise fall through the cracks—those in rural areas, lower-resource households, and the working class navigating aging parents or their own cognitive risk. Cognitive Compass delivers personalized recommendations, tracks risk over time, and integrates with local care pathways. BHNs serve as trusted connectors between communities and the health system. By 2035, we aim to impact over 1 million lives—improving early detection, reducing caregiver strain, and helping reshape health systems to address the dementia crisis with equity, dignity, and precision.
